Spring Events at Recyke-a-Bike

With the start of March upon us, everyone at Recyke-a-Bike is getting excited for Spring! Lighter nights mean longer rides and hopefully before long, the risk of slippery ice on the roads and trails will be over for another year. We've been hard at work on a number of projects this year so far and have some great events in the pipeline for every kind of cyclist - young, old, experienced or newbie,

Bikeability and Cycling Skills Workshop - 5th March

This weekend we are offering a FREE cycling skills workshop day for primary-aged children as part of our work with the Climate Challenge fund. Join us from 10am - 4pm on Saturday the 5th of March at our workshop on Alloa Road for a day of fun learning including bike handling and road awareness which will be tailored to participants' needs.

Participants need to bring: - Their bike and appropriate safety gear - Wet weather gear just in case - a packed lunch

Sport Relief Cycle Day - March 18th

Get yourself involved with Sport Relief this March by coming along to Sainsbury's. This year we are teaming up with our friends at Sainsbury's Drip Road in Stirling to host a day of cycling fun in aid of Sport Relief. We'll be bringing along our Pump track for you to test yourselves on, our Dr Bike experts will be on hand to answer any questions, and you can even try a turbo traininer! Family Cycling Stirling Easter Bonanza - 26th March

Recyke-a-bike have teamed up with CTC Scotland & Stirling Cycle Hub to bring you a family cycling event this Easter! From 10am - 2pm on the 26th of March we are taking over the car park at Wallace High School with lots of bike and cycling related fun for all the family. Come along and bring your bikes for some Spring fun, eat some treats and learn some new things. Try out family cycling options - baby seats, trailers, tag-alongs and meet super cycling families and hear how they do it. Get your own bikes safety checked by our Dr Bike specialists and ask our qualified cycle instructors any questions you can think of! All completely free of charge, off-road and car-free at Wallace High School, Airthrey Road, Stirling.

What else are we up to?

As usual we've been out about around the Forth Valley delivering Bikeability courses to hundreds of keen young bike riders, but we've also been working hard on our contributions to the Cycle Friendly Employer Scheme. With the weather (hopefully) set to improve soon, have you ever thought about cycling to work? Did you know that we can deliver 'Cycle Friendly Employer' training and certification for your workplace? We've recently been working with Stirling Council - today we held an employee engagement session and one of our Dr Bike mechanics was on hand to demonstrate and fix common bike issues.
