Carronshore Youth Club Bike Maintenance Session

Recycke-a-bike is proud to be working with Carronshore Youth Club to prepare for the delivery of an exciting cycling programme in 2016. As part of this we recently held bike maintenance sessions at the new Recyke-a-bike workshop in Alloa Road for Youth Club members and their families, to make sure that all the members are ready to hit the roads!

As well as learning essential maintenance skills such as puncture repairs, attendees also learned exactly how a bike works, and how to check and clean their bikes every time they use them to make sure they are safe to ride.

Participants also had their bikes checked over by the Recyke-a-bike 'Dr Bike' mechanics to ensure that everyone is ready to take part in the next stage of the Programme. Over the next couple of months, the young people will train for their Bikeability 1 and 2 certifications, which will develop the skills and confidence needed to cycle safely on the roads.

Is your group or club interested in Bikeability training? Would you like to host a Dr Bike session for your cycling group? Get in touch to see how we can help!
