As part of our team, you could be involved in:

  • Bike Mechanics: Repairing, servicing, and refurbishing bikes to high standards, ensuring they’re safe and affordable for our customers.
  • Training and Education: Teaching bike maintenance skills, delivering Bikeability lessons in schools, and running cycling programmes for all ages and abilities.
  • Community Outreach: Supporting initiatives such as Dr Bike sessions, Active Travel projects, and our bike library, which make cycling accessible to everyone.
  • Retail and Customer Service: Helping customers find the perfect bike, providing advice, and promoting cycling in the local community.
  • Fundraising, Finance, and Administration: Securing funding through grants and community support, managing budgets, organising fundraising opportunities, maintaining records, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Outreach Worker and Cycle Trainer

Join our busy team of instructors to deliver a range of different cycle programmes to children and adults throughout the Forth Valley. The successful candidate will support the delivery of the Bikeability programme (in partnership with Cycling Scotland and Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Falkirk local authorities), and the delivery of all cycling-based activities delivered by Recyke-a-bike. During the winter months, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn more about bike mechanics, by building pre-loved bikes in our workshop.  

Applicants must have a passion for cycling and be a competent cyclist, comfortable riding in road and shared-use path settings, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Desirable qualifications include a Cycle Trainer and first aid certificates, but these are not a requirement- full training will be provided.

The position is 14 hours per week, with a salary of £10,257 per annum and a permanent contract, based at the Recyke-a-Bike premises in Stirling. Different hours may be considered for the right candidate.
